For all skin types. Because the formula is lightweight, doesn’t clog pores, and isn’t drying, all skin types can use this serum with ease.
By Skin Sensitivity:
Up to moderately sensitive skin. If you have extremely sensitive skin that cannot tolerate any acids or if your skin is heavily irritated with a compromised skin barrier, we recommend using only our Glass Skin Refining Serum instead which includes hyaluronic acid, peptides, niacinamide, peach extract, madecassoside, and mountain yam extract - making up a clinically effective and very gentle formula. The Power Cocktail Lactic Acid Repair Serum includes 10% lactic acid, which is the gentlest of the alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) while still being potent. If you have moderately sensitive skin, the Power Cocktail serum can be used without worry.

How to Incorporate Into Your Routine:
We recommend starting with 3 times a week and working your way up to daily if your skin is loving daily usage. For those who are very acclimated to acids, you can use this daily morning and evening, but typically once daily is sufficient. And of course, with any acid, wearing SPF is important.
This is applied during the serum / treatment step of your routine. So, cleanse, tone, essence, then this serum, eye cream, moisturizer, oil, SPF. You don’t need to use all these steps to benefit from the Power Cocktail but we do highly recommend always cleansing, moisturizing and wearing SPF. And you can use this either in the morning or evening or both.
Pairing with Other Serums:
If you’re already using the Glass Skin Refining Serum, this is great news. We love using the two serums together as the two formulas pair beautifully together to do two different things for skin.
The Glass Skin Refining Serum drenches skin with hydration, helps amp up glow, calms skin, and delivers beautiful and nourishing ingredients and antioxidants. In short, you can achieve Glass Skin - skin that is luminous, clear and smooth. The Power Cocktail Repair Serum meanwhile resurfaces, repairs and lifts with 10% lactic acid and 12 active extracts. When the two serums are used together, you can achieve Glass Skin while visibly addressing stubborn skin issues related to photo damage or accelerated age-related issues. Either serum can be applied first or second as neither pill and both absorb beautifully. If you're using the Transparen-C Pro Spot Treatment, we recommend applying this after your Power Cocktail serum.
Pairing with Other Acids or Retinoids:
If you're using retinoids or heavy-duty acids (e.g. 10% glycolic acid) in your routine, we recommend avoiding using alongside the Power Cocktail serum in the same routine. Try to keep them in different routines and even different days and then work your way up. Our Transparen-C Pro Spot Treatment, while including a concentrated 20% stabilized vitamin C derivative, can be used alongside the Power Cocktail serum in the same routine because Transparen-C is formulated to be very gentle on skin. Overall, remember that when it comes to mixing acids and retinoids, slow and steady wins the race.
