In-Flight Beauty, The Korean Way

Even though it hardly feels like winter, we know that Christmas is right around the corner. And the holiday season, for many, has already begun.

The Peach & Lily team is headed to destinations near and far for the holidays...Being the beauty-minded group that we are, naturally, we’ve been starting to assemble our travel necessities.

We can’t stress enough how crucial it is to maintain your skin’s hydration when traveling—particularly in flight. According to the World Health Organization, the humidity level in an airplane cabin is less than 20%. To put that in context, your home is usually well above 30%.

While this difference might not seem significant, the lack of moisture in the air visibly wreaks havoc on your skin. It’s often the culprit of those airplane breakouts and the reason why people step off long flights looking…well, not their best.

Luckily, it’s nothing that a moisture mask and some face mist can’t fix!

Our carry-on bag wouldn’t be complete without our favorite moisture boosting trio: moisturizer, facial oil, + a sheet mask. (Plus, they all pass airport security without a hitch).

Here’s what we’re packing this holiday season:

Mizon All-in-One Snail Repair Cream Tube, $10

Aromatica Organic Argan Oil, $32

Some of our favorite hydrating sheet masks:

Aromatica Sea Daffodil Hydro Charge Mask, $6

M Line from Mizon, Enjoy Vital-Up Time Watery Moisture Mask, $3.50

Tosowoong Pure Deep Sea Water Mask Pack, $2.00

If you haven’t yet mastered the art of public sheet masking, try subbing in a rich moisturizer. A heavy handed application will help to lock in hydration and create a barrier against the drying cabin air. We’re proponents of self-care at all times, but there’s something about a melting cream on a plane that will make you feel very proud, or at least just very competent, in this art. Use your fingertips to massage Cremorlab’s Hydro Plus Melting Cream into your dehydrated plane face—you won’t regret it.

As for those cross-country flights? We suggest a full-on sleeping pack to protect your skin while you snooze. Not to mention that these rich, hydrating creams are a discreet way to hydrate your skin. Dr. Dream’s Dream Age Sleeping Pack has the added bonus of smelling like fresh roses.

Just tell your ride from the airport you’ll be the one with glowing skin!
